PROJECT OFFICER

ESTHER WASAGALI

Esther Wasagali is a Project Officer and has worked with The Peace Centre for the past one and half years managing the project Promoting Women’s Effective Participation in Peaceful Electoral Processes in Uganda.

Esther takes lead in implementation of project activities including planning, mobilizing and managing project resources and reporting to different stakeholders. Esther brings to The Peace Centre leadership, partnership building, community engagements and mobilization, capacity building, fundraising and facilitating skills in areas of governance, accountability, women and youth engagement and gender.

Esther has 13 years of progressive career in the NGO sector and has worked with district based, national and international NGO’s focusing on Human rights, Governance and Accountability in Health, Education and Water Sectors. She has previously worked with Tororo Civil Society Network as a Programme Coordinator and Regional Coordinator Eastern for 7 years, Anti-corruption Coalition Uganda as a Membership Officer for 4 years, Local Country Coordinator – All We Can UK for a year.

She has also served on various boards including NGO Forum, Women’s Democracy Network Uganda, Member Defenders Protection Initiative and Member -Anti-Corruption Coalition Busoga.
She holds a B.A in Development Studies from Mbarara University of Science and Technology and Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management – Uganda Management Institute.

Esther was also trained in Local governance and the changing environment from The Hague Academy – Netherlands.

Esther enjoys listening to music, dancing, reading, travelling and nature.
